The LS 600h is longer (4.8 inches overall) and lower (1.0 inch) than the LS 460. This longer, lower profile enhances the sharper, more defined styling and crisper body panels emphasized in the new Lexus design philosophy. Smooth, flowing lines and other aerodynamic features create a sense of increasing speed. The car is more than just visually streamlined: The coefficient of drag is just 0.27. The grille is low and wide, and the projector-type headlamps have blue crystal rings that gleam at night. Other blue accents on the front headlamps, tail lamps, badges and engine cover are unique to the LS 600h L.

Use of LED lamps, which require only 58 watts of voltage, works to create a complex, technical headlamp area. The headlamps are computer controlled. They re-aim themselves to the left or right as the vehicle is steered to better illuminate corners on dark roads.

Wheels are sized according to the options package: 18-inch for better ride, 19-inch for better handling. The wheels receive extensive buffing and their shape was analyzed to create a form with shade depths that shift when the vehicle is in motion.

The effect is to create a sense of speed and stability, strength and dignity, and above all, quality.
